Baptism
We believe that baptism is an ordinance of the Lord by which those who have repented and come to faith (Colossians 2:12; Galatians 3:26-27) express their union with Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13) in His death and resurrection,(Romans 6:3-4) by being immersed in water(Acts 8:36-39; John 3:23) in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.(Matthew 28:19)
It is a sign of belonging to the new people of God, the true Israel,(Romans 2:28-29) and an emblem of burial (Romans 6:3-4) and cleansing,(Hebrews 10:22) signifying death to the old life of unbelief, and purification from the pollution of sin.
